Indiana Online Only
Student FAQ
IOO is a free online program that helps adults in Indiana earn their High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. You’ll learn from home, on your schedule, with real teachers to support you. Whether you’re just getting started or almost ready to test, we have a plan that fits where you are right now.
You can join if:
You live in Indiana
You’re at least 18 years old (some 16–17-year-olds may qualify)
You don’t have a high school diploma
You have internet access and a device
You can commit to 9 hours a week of learning
Start with a test (called the TABE) to find out your skill level.
Based on your score, we’ll place you in one of four learning paths (see below).
You’ll study using our online lessons and get help from your instructor.
When you're ready, we'll give you a free GED Ready Test and guide you through your GED or HiSET test.

DRC Readiness Check (used for TABE testing):

If you’re not sure, don’t worry—your teacher can help walk you through it too!
How much does it cost?
Nothing. IOO is a completely free program, funded by the state of Indiana.
Absolutely! Every student is assigned a real teacher who:
